In august we had a very nice group which did a trekking with donkeys in the valleys of Mount Rosa, a wonderful route with unforgettable views and landscapes of Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta.
We participated as well, the panoramas were simply spectacular, we experienced the hot summer sun, the rain and even the snow, and the donkeys were a perfect company. One week without traffic, everyday rush and stress, without telephone and internet…
Day 1: from Riva Valdobbia to Alpe Larecchio
Day 2: from Alpe Larecchio to Gressoney Saint Jean passing by one of the oldest mountain huts in the Alps
Day 3: from Gressoney Saint Jean to Arp mountain hut – a long, but comfortable and very beautiful path
Day 4: from Arp to Crest mountain hut along a very panoramic valley and passing by a typical Walser village. A rain did not let us see the Palasina lakes, but that’s not a problem – we will be back next year!
Day 5: from Crest mountain hut to Sitten. Today we walk on the paths suspended above the Ayas valley enjoying a beautiful glimpse of Antagnod and views of Mt. Matterhorn and the glaciers of Mt. Rosa.
Day 6: from Sitten to Gabiet. Today is raining, but we are going to the mountain hut Gabiet “by Sandro” where superb cook famous for its delicious recipes from the old alpine traditions is waiting for us.
Day 7: from Gabiet back to Alagna Valsesia. And this is how the last trekking day surprises us – a snow in august! But the snow does not scare us, we are adventurers and we love and respect the mountains!
Passo dei Salati, 2978 m
We will organize this trekking also in 2018, so follow our news and join us for this unforgettable adventure!
